The short version.

Sprucie is an early preview of an AI styling service, operated by BuiltByDad, LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and BuiltByDad, LLC. You agree to them when you tick “I'm 18 or older and agree to the Terms” before styling or signing in, and by using Sprucie. If you don't agree, please don't use Sprucie.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to use Sprucie. You can shop for a teen (13–17) on their behalf; teens shouldn't use Sprucie themselves. We ask for fit details such as height, weight, bra size or menswear measurements. When you shop for a teen we ask for their age, height and sizes, only to size clothes.

Suggestions, not guarantees

Our stylists are AI. Their suggestions can be wrong about fit, dress code, weather or etiquette. Use your own judgement.
Sizes are estimates. Always check the retailer's size guide, delivery dates and returns policy before you buy.
Prices and stock come from live retailer data and can change between the time you see a look and the time you check out.

Full-look previews

“See the full look” images are AI-generated. Colors, fit and details are approximate, so don't rely on them to choose a size.
Previews on your own photo are for members, and only for photos of yourself. They aren't available for teen styling. Don't upload photos of anyone under 18, of other people, or with nudity. We may limit how many previews you can make each day.
Photos and generated images are automatically checked for explicit content. A photo or preview that doesn't pass isn't used or saved, and repeated rejections pause photo previews for a while. You can still see looks on a model.
Every preview carries a small Sprucie logo and an “AI-generated” label. Previews shown while you're signed out, or still on the waitlist, also carry a Sprucie watermark.

Shared looks and comments

Members can share a look by link. You're responsible for what you share: share only previews of yourself or of our AI models, and remember anyone with the link can see it until it ends or you stop sharing.
Commenters are responsible for what they write. Basic rules: no harassment, no comments on anyone's body, no spam. The person who shared a look can delete comments on it and turn comments off.
Sprucie can take a link or a comment down, and block an account from commenting, at any time.

Accounts, the waitlist and invites

You can style without an account. An account keeps your looks across devices; one account per person, please.
While we open up in waves, new accounts may join a waitlist first. An invite code or an invitation email gets you in once you confirm your email address.
Members can send up to 3 invites, and we may grant more on request. Personal invite codes and invite emails are for people you know: don't sell or publish them. You earn 1 free event credit when someone you invited styles their first event, up to 3 in total. We may revoke invites, rewards or free credits that are being abused, for example with throwaway accounts.
When you share a preview, the caption we copy for you can include your share code, which you may post publicly. It works for 7 days, and each person who joins with it uses one of your invites. Sharing is always your choice, and the image and caption are yours to edit.

Event credits

One event credit styles one event: looks, edits, new picks, swaps and stylist chat for that occasion, plus 3 AI previews. Editing the event within a day keeps the same credit. A fair-use allowance applies (8 look builds and 40 stylist replies per credit, well above normal use); going past it, or asking for a 4th preview, uses another credit on that event.
Your first event is free without an account, with one preview on a model, and your account gets 1 more free event credit once it's approved. Free credits are one per person and email inbox.
Credits never expire. They have no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
If a look build or a preview fails on our side, the credit it used is returned automatically.

Buying credits

Credit packs are sold by BuiltByDad, LLC, which runs Sprucie. Payments are processed by Stripe, whose terms cover the payment itself, and Stripe emails your receipt on our behalf. The price is shown before you pay and is the total you're charged.
Refunds. You can ask for a refund of a pack's unused credits within 14 days of buying it. We refund the unused share of what you paid, minus that payment's processing fees (2.9% + 30¢). Credits you've already used aren't refundable. Refunds, cancellation rights or cooling-off periods that the law gives you take precedence.
If a payment is refunded or disputed, the credits it bought are removed, even if that takes your balance below zero until it's topped up.

Sprucie+

Sprucie+ costs $9.99 a month and renews automatically every month until you cancel. It includes unlimited styling under a fair-use allowance of 10 events per billing month, plus 15 AI previews per billing month. Unused events and previews don't carry over.
While you have Sprucie+ events or previews left, they're used before your event credits. When they run out, your event credits are used as usual. Event credits you bought stay yours and never expire.
Cancel any time in your account with one click. Sprucie+ then runs to the end of the month you've paid for and doesn't renew. You can undo the cancellation before that date.
Upgrade credit. When you subscribe, what you paid for credit packs in the last 30 days (minus any refunds) counts toward your first month, up to $9.99. The unused credits of the packs that credit comes from are moved into Sprucie+ in proportion to the amount used, and leave your balance.
Sprucie+ is sold by BuiltByDad, LLC and billed through Stripe, which processes each payment and emails your receipts and renewal notices on our behalf. Any cancellation rights or cooling-off periods the law gives you apply. For billing questions or refund requests, email hello@sprucie.app. We email you a reminder once a year before your subscription's anniversary.

Buying clothes

We don't sell clothes. Every purchase is made with the retailer, and their terms cover payment, delivery, returns and refunds. We may earn a commission, as explained in the affiliate disclosure.

Fair use

Use Sprucie for your own personal shopping.
Don't scrape, overload or try to break the service, and don't try to trick the stylist into producing harmful content.
Product images and names belong to their brands and retailers.

Liability

The preview is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for purchases you make with retailers or for losses from relying on a suggestion.
